The Frank Selby Hurst papers and photographs consist primarily of personal and family photographs. The collection is comprised of seven photograph albums and many individual photographs. There are two scrapbooks documenting Frank Selby Hurst's accomplishments. Also included are diplomas, certificates, and awards. Additionally, there are clippings of Frank Selby Hurst and his father O.E. Hurst and two pieces of childhood correspondence.

Frank Selby Hurst was a Lexington attorney and businessman. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky to O.E. (Ora Earl) and Mabel Letton Hurst circa 1925 and graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1942. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 1945. Just two years later in 1947, Mr. Hurst earned his law degree from UK and was given the Sullivan Award for outstanding Kentucky male graduate.
